2022 Halloween Costume & Home Decorating Contests

The Skye Canyon Halloween Costume and Home Decorating Contests are open to all. Our goal is to get into the spirit of giving back while having fun. In doing so, please keep in mind that costumes must be “family-friendly.” Vulgar or inappropriate costumes and decorations will not be accepted. Management reserves this determination. All entries must be submitted by Sun. 10/31 at 11:59 p.m.

Costume Contest

Age categories and prizes are as follows:

• 18 & Under:
  • 1st $75
  • 2nd: $50
  • 3rd: $25
• Family: $100

Winners will receive an Amazon gift card e-delivered.

Home Decorating Contest

Categories and prizes are as follows:

• Scariest: $100
• Funniest: $100
  
• Cutest: $100
• Judge's Favorite: $100

Winners will receive an Amazon gift card e-delivered.

Judging Criteria
Costumes will be judged by our community board of directors, and will be based on:

• Originality & Creativity: Does the costume stand out from the rest? Did you put a twist on an old classic?
• Quality and Level of Detail: Is the costume put together well?
• Effort & Complexity​: Did the costume take time and effort to create? Was it store bought? Did you incorporate face paint or makeup?

Judging Criteria
Decorations will be judged by our community board of directors, and will be based on:

• Originality & Creativity: Do your home have a unique design? Did you use creative yard placement and use of lights?
• Quality and Level of Detail: Is there an overall theme/story-line?
• Eligibility: All residents of Skye Canyon that are in good standing with the Community Association are eligible to enter the contest.
